Concert: VÀsterÄs Sinfonietta

The wind section of the VÀsterÄs Sinfonietta chamber orchestra performs a concert with a lively international flavour.
A musician holds a trumpet in front of his face and watches the camera through his instrument.

Created in 1883, VÀsterÄs Sinfonietta is one of the oldest orchestras in Sweden. It comprises 33 musicians conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips, and resides at the VÀsterÄs Concert Hall near Stockholm.

The orchestra has recorded several albums and won many awards, including a Grammis – a Swedish Grammy – in 2017, as “classical ensemble of the year”.

The concert programme includes compositions by Kurt Weill, W.A. Mozart, André Caplet, Andrea Tarrodi and Manuel de Falla.
