Who we are

A little piece of Sweden in the heart of Paris. The Institut suédois is the only cultural centre of its kind outside Sweden.
A big group of people sit in the garden of Hôtel de Marle during an outdoor cinema session.

Art, design, cinema, music, literature… the Institut suédois promotes Swedish culture via a multi-disciplinary and mainly contemporary programme. In parallel, the permanent art exhibition reflects Franco-Swedish relations over the last centuries.

The courtyard and garden are also open to the public, and are used for some of the Institute’s cultural activities: a summer library, open-air cinema, concerts, contemporary art installations and open-air exhibitions, etc.

By working in continuous collaboration with French and Swedish cultural partners, the Institut suédois aims to use its programme of exhibitions and events to raise important questions for the society of tomorrow. Its aim is to serve as a forum for intercultural exchange that fosters openness and mutual understanding.
