Behind the intriguing monicker The Tallest Man On Earth stands the musician Kristian Matsson, who began his solo career in 2006 after a stint as lead singer of the indie-rock band Montezumas. Since then he’s recorded seven albums, including the collection of cover versions Too Late for Edelweiss last autumn and his latest studio album Henry St. scheduled for release on 14 April.
His musical universe has often been compared to that of Bob Dylan, whom he has listened to since the age of 15 and who introduced him to American folk music; Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie to name but two. But he refuses to be pigeonholed in a fixed genre, preferring to develop a style and musicality all his own.
In concert at La Cigale on 26 April with his band, Kristian Matsson will be performing songs from his new album.
