Fia Adler Sandblad
Artistic Director, playwright, actor, director
02.06 – 15.06.2026

“I create theatre that involves the deep and dark nature of human beings and the struggle for light and joy, turning shame into joy. In the 1980s, I went to Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Now, I am developing a project with one of my schoolmates, Lee Delong, who lives in MĂ©ricourt. My formal merits include a Master in Dramatics and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting. I also hold a diploma in voice-work from Roy Hart Voice Centre in France. I love French chansons.”

“At the time when Lee and I met in Paris, we discovered and experienced French cultural life intensely. A couple of years ago, our paths crossed in a fantastic way. Now 40 years later, after our respective careers in different directions, we meet and find an incredible number of points of contact. The project we have started takes its starting point from the orphan child.”

Sara Engberg

“I’m preparing for a solo exhibition that explores death and the ephemeral nature of life. My works seek to uncover beauty within the macabre, featuring motifs such as skulls and internal organs. During my time in Paris, I will study metal art and architecture from the Art Nouveau era, vanitas motifs in classical art, tombstone decoration, and the catacombs. I will also be conducting research for my next novel, which is set in Paris in the 1990s.”

Maria Friberg
Visual Artist , photography
02.06 – 29.06.2026

“I am a visual artist working with photography and while in Paris I will be studying historic painting in Museums in relation to our contemporary society, political power structures with the Look for areas of Future Hopes. I use domestic objects to investigate concepts of masculinity, focusing on how inherited responsibilities influence identity across time. Drawing from classical painting, my photographs ,works directly with scenes, light, and objects, without digital manipulation.”

“I will deepen my work relation to Gallery Bendana Pinel Art Contemporain, that I have done several solo and group shows with. And be able to plan for a future show and get ideas in the air. It’s important to meet and see the space. But also get an updated feeling of Contemporary Paris and historic inputs from Museums since my origin is a painting tradition that I use in my photographs. Paris is both a strong historic and contemporary city which is my theme for the new series.”

Björn Hasselgren
Guest researcher
02.06 – 26.06.2026

“I am a researcher of Economic History with a specialism in the development of transport infrastructure systems (canals, rail, road) since the early 1800s. I have been studying the general and broad aspects of transport system development and more in depth the canal-era in Sweden and other countries, with a focus on organisation and financing. Currently the early phases of railroad construction in Sweden from the mid 1840s is in focus of my research.”

“Some of the central actors in the early phases of railroad development in Sweden were active also in England and France in parallel to their Swedish projects. Paris was the centre of some of the projects and events these actors were involved in. Besides continuing with my book manuscript around these events I will also visit relevant archives in Paris. I also have an invitation as a guest-researcher from Paris 1 PanthĂ©on-Sorbonne (IDHE.S) during my stay.”
