In parallel with the exhibition "LONGING – woven strands, woven stories", you are given the opportunity to meet the artists and curator, and to take part in a creative workshop!

Meet the artists and curator

Five artists – Julia Bland, Kristina Müntzing, Emelie Röndahl, Mariana Silva Varela and Côme Touvay – will be talking to the art weaver Marcia Harvey Isaksson, who curated the exhibition. The event will be an opportunity to talk about the origins and themes of the project, the creative processes involved and the work of each artist.

Hang on to the thread! Band weaving workshop // Open day

Weaving artists Mariana Silva Varela and Côme Touvay are offering a weaving workshop open to all. Led by students from various Parisian schools of applied arts, this workshop offers the opportunity to try band weaving, an ancestral and universal practice proposed here in exercise through Swedish looms.

Art weavers Mariana Silva Varela and Côme Touvay discuss their work, their sources of inspiration and the history of weaving with Sophie Desrosiers, a historian and anthropologist specialising in textiles who lectures at EHESS (School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences).

Impulsion ! Festival

The ten choreographers taking part in the Impulsion ! festival programme present excerpts from their creations and educational initiatives in the interior and garden of the Institut Suédois, forming a dialogue with the exhibited artworks.
