Jonas Karlsson (Sweden)
Among the twenty or so guest authors, Swedish writer Jonas Karlsson presents his latest novel published in French under the title Le Cirque. A man disappears during a magic trick. His friend, determined to find him, launches into an investigation that is both absurd and symbolic. Jonas Karlsson was born in 1971 and lives in Stockholm. Initially an actor, he played in several films and TV series and had major roles at at the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden. He wrote several plays before moving into fiction in 2007. His work, which mainly comprises short stories and non-fiction stories, has been translated into some fifteen languages. Several of his books have been translated into French and published by Actes Sud: La Facture (2015), La Pièce (2016), L’Ami parfait (2018) and Le Cirque (2022). Jonas Karlsson will be discussing his novel with Sylvie Tanette, with translation into French by RĂ©mi Cassaigne, who also translated the book.
