Exhibition: A New World. Artistic and Societal Revolutions in the 18th Century
Central to the identity of the Institut suédois, the permanent exhibition is entering a new era. This revitalised installation highlights little-known treasures of the collection in a thematic exhibition exploring the ideas, aspirations and tensions that marked the Age of Enlightenment.
Exhibition: Louis-Jean Desprez. Between Worlds
A great traveller, painter, architect and engraver, Louis-Jean Desprez (1743–1804) was one of the greatest theatrical set designers of his time. To mark the occasion of the new installation of the permanent exhibition, we dedicate a monographic exhibition to him, reviving the work of an artist who is little known today.
Exhibition: Barbro Östlihn (1930-1995). Stockholm – New York – Paris
Standing at the crossroads between the American and European avant-gardes, Barbro Östlihn developed a unique painterly idiom that stands apart from established artistic movements. Only at the turn of the Millennium did the work of this prolific painter gain the attention it so richly deserves. This is the first retrospective of Barbro Östlihn’s work in France.
