Online Workshops x2 : Voguing and Runway

With the season Mouvements !, the Institut Suédois celebrates the centenary of the Swedish Ballets and dedicates its multidisciplinary programming to dance as a vector of artistic and societal changes. A great part is given to the art of ballroom, to discover through the art of voguing. Discover it through two workshops by two American legends of the ballroom culture: Twiggy Pucci Garçon and Legendary Renaldo 007.

The Art of Vogue consists of your hand performance, catwalk, duckwalk, spins and dips, and floor performance.
The Art of Runway consists of your walk, poses, spins/pivots, personality/attitude, and the use of your garment. In these introductory workshops, you will gain a baseline understanding of these elements from masters and legends from the House|ballroom community.

As an activist, advocate, healer and creator, Twiggy Pucci Garçon attributes the balance of struggle and strength they witnessed and experienced, early in life, to their ability to maneuver through spaces of power and represent for people without. Since finding support in the ballroom community at a very crucial moment in their life, they leverages every opportunity to generate conversations around equity for LGBTQ+ young people and create quality spaces for them to be centered in making decisions and solutions around the issue of homelessness. Twiggy Pucci Garçon currently serves as the Chief Program Officer for True Colors United. With support from the Swedish Arts Council.

The Runway and Voguing workshops consist of an introduction to the voguing ball PASSÉ-PRÉSENT-FUTUR which is one of the three projects arising from the collaboration with the Swedish artist and filmmaker Sara Jordenö and the US activist artist Twiggy Pucci Garçon: an exhibition documenting the art project in public space, The Reincarnation of Rockland Palace (2012); several screenings of the documentary film KIKI made in 2016; and a new performance event in the form of a French-Swedish-American Ball.
