Open-air cinema

In the autumn, the Institut Suédois garden hosts two open-air evening film events. In the middle of the Olympiad – the 4-year gap between two editions of the Olympic Games – we prepare for the 2024 Olympics by turning the spotlight on sport!

The common thread linking the two films on the programme this year is the Swedish writer and filmmaker Ronnie Sandahl. First we’ll be showing his latest feature-length film Tigers, which tells the true story of young Martin Bengtsson and focuses on the dreams and nightmares of the soccer industry and high-level sport in general. The second film, Janus Metz Pedersen’s Borg / McEnroe, scripted by Ronnier Sandahl, presents one of the greatest rivalries in the history of sport, between tennis player Björn Borg and his American opponent John McEnroe.
