Photo exhibition: Visage(s) d’Europe

The fourth edition of "Visage(s) d’Europe" presents sixteen photographers showcasing the diversity of artistic approaches on the young European photographic scene. Christine Sjöberg and Lars Dyrendom represent Sweden with a series titled "Vit följer vind" ["White replaces the wind"], 2012-2014.
Photo of a landscape with forest and lowland and aerial electrifying lines, all bathed in a dreamy fog.

Through a series of archive images and contemporary photographs, Christine Sjöberg and Lars Dyrendom explore the memory and experience of the UNESCO-listed Falun copper mine in Sweden.

Artificial smoke, which changes according to the level of humidity, the wind and the local topography, sometimes blends into the landscape and adopts unexpected forms, applying a nostalgic filter to photographs by the two artists.

With this exhibition, cultural institutes in Paris that are members of EUNIC are repeating an experiment that began in 2019: offering a view of Europe through the prism of the artistic scene in their respective countries. Already supported by the Paris City Council, this year EUNIC has a curatorial partner whose aspirations naturally match its own: the FETART collective, which organises CIRCULATION(S), the annual festival of young European photography that takes place at LE CENTQUATRE in Paris.

Project produced by EUNIC France in collaboration with the FETART collective, which curated the exhibition, and in partnership with Paris City Council.
