Ingmar Bergman seems to have a very ambiguous relationship with writing. Although famous for his films and stage work, he wrote constantly throughout his life. Did he dream of being a writer? How do his written work and his films inspire today’s writers?
With:
- Jan Holmberg, film historian and director of the Ingmar Bergman Foundation. He is the author of a book published in Sweden in 2018, Författaren Ingmar Bergman [Ingmar Bergman the Writer].
- Abdellah Taïa, Moroccan-born French writer and filmmaker. His books, written in French, have been translated into a number of languages, including Swedish. He says that when he moved to Europe, Bergman’s Through a Glass Darkly “saved his life”.
In French and Swedish with consecutive translation in French.
Admission free while seats last.
